I started writing poetry on a typewriter seriously in 1997 when I purchased this one from a local typewriter shop(which still actually existed in 1997). It is a 1947 Remington Rand Deluxe Model 5. It never worked perfectly, but I wrote a helluva lot of poetry on it. The ribbon could never really decide whether it wanted to type in red or black. I kept it for 20 years. Recently, I gave it a custom paint job and sold it to a friend of mine who wanted to use it as décor in their new house(wall hanger status, so it goes...) Below the photos are some poetry samples I banged out on it.
